Washington is fortunate to have a number of strong conservation efforts underway and a public that values a healthy environment. These efforts include acquisition of land from willing sellers, habitat restoration projects, purchase of development rights to retain working forests, and other approaches.

Puget Sound Partnership
The Puget Sound Partnership is a community effort of citizens, governments, tribes, scientists, and businesses working together to restore and protect Puget Sound.

Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) provides funding for parks, water access sites, trails, wildlife habitat, and farmland preservation.

Salmon Recovery Funding Board
The Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB) administers two grant programs for protection and restoration of salmon habitat. The board also supports feasibility assessments for future projects and other activities.
